Events to Look For

The "America's Republic" project will be hosting a wide range of events for teachers year round. During the summer, Master and Mentor teachers will have week long institutes in which they receive method and strategies instruction. Master teachers will also have a 2 day long session in which they will design and write a "Manual for Teaching" for Tennessee history teachers. During the school year, approximately 110 East Tennessee teachers can look forward to lectures from University of Tennessee history professors, method and strategy sessions led by Master and Mentor teachers, as well as tour historic sites across the region. We are also working to promote the regional National History Day competition.
